Floating Housekeeper/Porter

The Community Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the community in addition to getting units ready for potential tenants.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Professionally show respect for fellow team members, residents and community at all times, while providing excellent customer service.
• Attend in-house meetings, training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Make ready vacant units for move in.
• Maintain common areas including, but not limited to, the clubhouse, public restrooms, fitness center, business center, and corridors.
• Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors.
• Vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies.
• Shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery.
• Dust and polish furniture and fittings.
• Clean metal fixtures and fittings.
• Empty and clean trash containers.
• Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
• Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers.
• Wipe down glass surfaces.
• Wash windows as scheduled.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition.
• Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements.
• Communicate supplies need to the Maintenance Supervisor for ordering.
• Stock community amenity spaces.
• Light maintenance including possible paint, filter changes and light bulb replacement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Available to work days, evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
• Must be able and willing to travel between the various Madison Communities within the Charleston area.
• Must demonstrate ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Must demonstrate ability to successfully work within a team environment.
• Must be able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing.
• Education and Background:
• Must be a minimum 18 years of age.
• High School degree or equivalent.
• Previous housekeeping experience desired.
