Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to buy goods and services necessary for our business. You have the means and opportunity to raise our profits by making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication skills will help you negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.

The goal is to acquire supplies that are critical for the success of our business operations

Essential Functions/Job Requirements:

• Negotiates pricing/purchasing terms
• Tracks deliveries vs. scheduled receipt dates, maintains open PO records
• Ensures compliance with material management processes and procedures.
• Provide leadership, coaching and training to the Supervisors. Direct continuous improvement, corrective actions and support new program launches.
• Participation in the organization and execution of all systems and processes required to reduce cost, improve quality, and deliver throughout company.
• Monitor process and product quality for compliance to standards that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Analyze and recommend future requirements related to tooling and floor space.
• Implementation of new methods and processes.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe worksite.
• Research and implement "Best Manufacturing Practices."
• Participation on appropriate cross functional teams.
• Planning and budget preparation.
• Use of financial and non-financial data to measure performance.
• Assist in implementing employee involvement.

Qualifications:

• Proven knowledge of business management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
• Computer literacy Microsoft Office (Excel. Word, Outlook)
• Ability to work safely in all conditions.
• Must be detail oriented and have a strong desire to learn.
• Proficient in composing memos, correspondence, and other professional documents in a well written manner
• Can maintain resource materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure smooth office operation
• Enjoys multi-tasking and interfacing with multiple departments as needed
• Easily analyzes and prioritizes information for presentation to management for decision making and opportunity purchases
• Presents a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organization
• Must be detailed oriented and keep meticulous records.
• Must have excellent people skills and know how to conduct business on the phone.
• Must be dedicated to the job and own it.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Skilled in troubleshooting and problem solving
• Organized with strong time management skills
• Good communicators, able to work through problems with other team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
