Job Description
The Assistant Manager is an integral member of the Mad Science team. He/she is responsible for tasks relating supporting the Operations Manager including staffing, marketing, customer communications and fulfillment of Mad Science programs. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the AM engages in a variety of activities related to client order processing, lead handling, data entry, customer communications, marketing campaigns and assists with staffing. The AM contributes to the sales and marketing efforts on a range of projects as well as driving processes essential to the company's day to day operations. Additionally, the AM will be certified as a Mad Science instructor and may perform or assist with Mad Science programming at client locations as required.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Answer phones and address customer inquiries; book Mad Science programs from inbound calls
Assist with managing social media presence and email marketing campaigns.
Assisting and creating print marketing materials including flyers, ads for print publications, and program-related print materials such as registration flyers
Serve as an assistant to Operations Manager
Assist with on-site administration of school programs
Assists with training, coaching and hiring the Mad Science Team.
Serve as a substitute instructor when necessary
Desired Skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
Must have experience managing teams and working with children
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and Google applications
Experience managing online marketing campaigns and social media marketing, Google is a plus, but we will train
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Energetic, outgoing and FUN personality
No Science background is necessary, but you must be willing to learn!
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation, as we do outreach so you will periodically traveling in area.
Preferred
Previous experience in marketing, business management, supervising staff or comparable experience in a similar role desired. A background working with children or children’s programming is a plus.
Work Schedule
We are flexible on an exact work schedule, but we require 25-40 hrs per week, between the hours of 8:00AM and 5:30PM. This position will require working Friday, Saturday and Monday 9-5 PM, we are flexible on the other days.
Salary & Benefits
Salary, is open, based upon your skills. Starting wage is $18-$20 per hour, plus a bonus program. Expected total compensation is $43000-$55000 per year.
