Mad River Eye Care in Waitsfield, VT is looking to hire a full-time Optometric Assistant to perform pre-testing on our patients, instruct them in contact lens care, and maintain our inventory. This entry-level optometry position earns a competitive wage of $17 - $19 /hour, depending on training and experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT

As an Optometric Assistant, you give vital assistance to our doctor. Each day, you warmly greet our patients upon their arrival, immediately setting them at ease with your excellent customer service skills. You then take a detailed health history and perform the pre-testing that provides the information our doctor needs to begin an exam. With genuine concern for our patients, you act as a liaison between them and our doctor, relaying questions or concerns they have and making sure they have the information they need.

When patients receive contact lenses, they rely on you to help them learn the ropes. You give instructions on insertion, removal, and care, helping them feel like pros in no time. Keeping an eye on our inventory, you make sure we have the lenses and supplies on hand to fill our patients' needs. A go-getter, you tackle any other tasks that need doing in order to help our practice thrive. You love providing great customer service to our clients and making sure they have the support they need to see and feel their best!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT

  • High school diploma or equivalent

WORK SCHEDULE

This entry-level optometry position works Monday - Thursday, 7:45 am - 5:15 pm, and enjoys a three-day weekend every week!
