MACtac North America is Hiring an Operation Support Near Lemont, IL

Summary:

Plans and coordinates production schedules. Schedules the finishing equipment in a manner that will support productivity and delivery goals with minimal waste. Performs administrative functions for the warehouse. Assists in directing and coordinating activities in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure cost-effective operation. Monitor and manage indirect spend. Warehouse operations responsibilities in the absence of the Finishing DC Manager. Other responsibilities include following all safety procedures and practices during all production activities. Ensure employees are following environmental, safety and housekeeping standards and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs the duties consistent with the Coordinating/Planning function including, but not limited to:

  • Plans and schedules orders for the Finishing Department in accordance with machine capabilities to ensure current customer service standards.
  • Accurately prepare the shipper and bill of lading documents for each shipment. Complete the final shipping processes after shipment has departed - shipper issues and cancellation of backorders. (Spinnaker)
  • Ensures that all files are organized to maintain an effective communication system. All purchase orders and receiving documents are to be matched and the purchase order closed, bill of ladings will be mailed to Troy as required.
  • Responsible for recognizing and eliminating any obstacles which may prevent the timely delivery of product. Works directly with Customer Support regarding any delays, questions, or modifications to open orders.
  • Maintains an awareness of production capabilities with accuracy to judge the ability to respond to customer demands
  • Generate manufacturing work orders through the scheduling process in compliance with established cut-off times. Reviews customer special instructions for capability acceptance prior to sending a work order to production. Communicates any concerns to Customer Support. (Spinnaker)
  • Become proficient with the Slitting Production Reporting (SPR) system to provide on-site support to Production personnel.
  • Manages inventories to facilitate efficient inventory turns consistent with company standards. Ensures all production reporting is timely and accurate. Report any errors, quality concerns or inventory discrepancies to the Finishing DC Manager.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy at the Finishing DC. Coordinate the cycle count effort and corrections. Support efforts to reduce aged inventory in cooperation with the Finishing DC Manager.
  • Support company objectives as it relates to: Service, Quality, Waste, and Inventory Turns.
  • Communicates effectively with customer service, logistics (DRP), other personnel, and customers on order status and actions necessary to ensure that customer service standards are achieved on every order or inquiry.
  • Active contributor to the EHS Programs, policies, and initiatives. Directive owner, Safety Committee member, Hazard Id's, safety audits, and conduct Safety training as needed.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Finishing DC Manager.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

2-4 years manufacturing experience in a planner scheduling environment is required.

Must demonstrate a working knowledge of inventory control and scheduling.

Experience in set up/design of computer spreadsheet analysis, inventory, and cycle count analysis with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Work Environment:

This position works in the production facility. Reflective clothing, eye and foot protection are mandatory.
