Job DescriptionPosition:

CNC Set Up/MachinistReports to:

Production SupervisorResponsibilities:

• Produces machined parts by setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, or Swiss-style machines.
• Ensures adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Maintains records, equipment, and supplies.

Qualifications:

• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Technical education and/or experience in CNC machining.
• Team player with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
• Proactively seeks continuous improvement opportunities in each task to enhance efficiency.

Specific Responsibilities:

Planning and Process Management:

• Follow work procedures, customer’s purchase order requirements, blueprints/drawings, and material specifications.

Machine Set-Up:

• Set up CNC lathes, mills, or Swiss-style machines.
• Install and adjust necessary tools and equipment. (chucks, collets, tool holders, bushings, vises)

Quality and Specification Maintenance:

• Measure and verify machine settings.
• First-Article and sample workpieces
• Observe operations and maintain quality assurance, troubleshooting processes, and reprogramming controls

Safety and Equipment Maintenance:

• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleanliness of machines.

Documentation and Communication:

• Document actions on In-Process Inspection sheets and quality logs.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts through effective communication.

Technical Use and Data Entry:

• Utilize Go – No Go gauges/pins, Micrometers, Calipers, CMM, Height Gauge, Optical Comparator, etc.
• Enter accurate data into the company’s computerized system (EstiTrack).

Additional Duties:

• Perform other related duties as required to assist in production and meeting customer and company requirements.
