Job Summary:

The Quality Technician at Mach3, an AECo Company, plays a crucial role in ensuring the production of high-quality products for our customers. The Quality Technician will collaborate with the production team to maintain and improve the internal quality system. This role involves conducting various tests, including visual and NDT testing, and performing inspections at different stages of the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working within a machine shop environment, demonstrating proficiency in using cranes to inspect parts. In addition, the candidate should possess expertise in reading weld symbols and blueprints, as well as hands-on experience in weld inspections. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, precision, and a thorough understanding of the manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in materials, welding, and manufacturing, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Maintain Internal Quality System:

• Uphold and enhance the internal quality system.
• Administer testing and operations related to the quality system.

Inspections and Testing:

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of manufactured products.
• Perform visual and NDT testing using appropriate methods.
• Measure and test products/materials against specified requirements.
• Proficient reading welding symbols and interpreting blueprints.

Documentation and Certification:

• Maintain organized quality files and certifications for work performed.
• Compile documentation for final distribution to customers.

Problem Resolution:

• Facilitate effective communication with internal and external customers to resolve issues promptly.
• Handle customer representatives professionally, ensuring their requirements are met.

Requirements

Competencies and Attributes:

• Demonstrate the ability to react quickly to requests and prioritize tasks.
• Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to address challenges.
• Possess a strong attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to operate an overhead crane for part inspection.
• Experience working in a machine job shop environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and engage in pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as necessary.
• Wear steel-toe boots and safety glasses during standard ten-hour shifts.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
