Position: Professional Bartender for The Maple Room Restaurant & Lounge in Vienna Virginia

Description:

We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve class cocktails and exciting new beverages to our guests. The bartender will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions they may have, recommend menu pairings, and prepare and serve beverages and food. Our bartender will also up sell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. This is a high volume restaurant and lounge with high earnings potential.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests, read and listen to people to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
• Inform guests about new beverages and specials.
• Select and mix ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serve beverages to guests.
• Check identification to ensure guests are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Take inventory and ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.
• Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and return correct change to guests, balance the cash register.
• Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Consistently adhere to the grooming and appearance standards

Required Qualifications:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Have the ability to handle money and operate a POS system.
• Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Enthusiastic and energetic team player.
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
