Job Title: Automotive Paint Helper/Prepper

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Paint Prepper/Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist our automotive painters in preparing vehicles for painting by performing various tasks such as sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming. This role requires a strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare vehicles for painting by performing tasks such as sanding, masking, and cleaning surfaces to be painted.

Assist in mixing and applying primers and sealers to vehicle surfaces as directed by the automotive painter.

Remove wax, grease, and other contaminants from surfaces to be painted using appropriate solvents and cleaning agents.

Tape off and mask areas not to be painted to ensure clean lines and protect surrounding surfaces from overspray.

Sand and feather edges of existing paint to ensure smooth transitions between old and new paint layers.

Clean and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, brushes, and mixing tools, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workspace to facilitate efficient workflow and minimize hazards.

Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of projects.

Assist with other duties as needed, including but not limited to vehicle detailing, minor repairs, and general maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in automotive painting or related field preferred.

Knowledge of basic automotive painting techniques, materials, and equipment.

Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Willingness to follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.

Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for transportation of vehicles).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with automotive detailing and/or minor repairs.
