Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Technician/Remodeler to join our team! As a rental property owner in Iowa City, we understand the importance of maintaining our properties to ensure tenant satisfaction and a positive living experience. We also serve other local investors by assisting with their maintenance and renovation needs, so reliability and experience are key. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality service to both our residents and investor clients.

Duties:

• Perform maintenance and renovations on apartments in the Iowa City area.
• Typical maintenance tasks include replacing broken blinds, repair/replace fixtures, addressing plumbing leaks, replacing furnace filters, changing locks, troubleshooting/installing appliances, etc.
• Typical renovations include cabinets/countertop installation, painting, lay flooring, installing doors/windows/trim, drywall repairs, etc.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in.
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to address future maintenance problems.
• Assist in client projects ranging from basic apartment maintenance to full-scale renovation projects (i.e. flips).
• Collaborate with property management and other technical team members to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in maintenance and/or remodeling activities.
• Background/experience in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills are preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
• Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of professionalism and customer service orientation.

Pay range: $20-$30/hr depending on experience.

Anticipated hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday, however, scheduling is rather flexible around your personal commitments!
