M1 is looking for a SFEI Manager (UH-60):Position Description:
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the test flight operations of the applicable MDS fleet to meet PWS requirements.
  • Assists in the administration and provides management control of the Company Flight Mechanic (FM) or Flight
Engineer (FE) Standardization and Training Program.
  • Implements/ enforces standard operating procedures in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and
Army regulations, company policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison with Aviation Center Logistics Command (ACLC) and Airfield Commander on issues pertaining to
flight operations.
  • Performs aerial flight duties maintaining currency and proficiency in accordance with (IAW) applicable service
guidance technical publications and applicable FAA regulations.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease cycle time and streamline work flow processes.
  • Participates in formulating and establishing organizational policies and operating procedures for the department and
the company. Plans and implements policies and procedures relating to all phases of flight operations with a focus on
FM or FE personnel.
  • Along with the Standardization Pilots, manages and implements the Company FM or FE Standardization and Training
Program at assigned location. Responsible for FM or FE currencies, flight requirements, training, qualifications,
proficiency, assignments, inspections, certifications and annual flight reviews/evaluations. Recommends and
implements required corrective actions. Conducts currency, refresher, and transition training IAW with applicable
regulations. Conducts Flight Mechanic (FM), Flight Engineer (FE), Flight Instructor (FI) or Standardization Instructor
(SI) training in aircraft mission, type, design and series.
  • Conducts FM, FE, FI or SI evaluations in aircraft mission, type, design, and series.
  • Responsible for the training, currency, qualifications and conduct of operations pertaining to non-crewmember personnel
at assigned field.
  • Trains APU operators. Conducts semi-annual and annual evaluations as necessary.
  • Coordinates with the Chief Standardization Pilot/Flight Safety Officer and Field Standardization Pilot for authorizations,
certifications, and approvals.
  • Exercises authority concerning flight safety issues at assigned location. Assists in the implementation of a
comprehensive safety program for the prevention of accidents involving personnel, property, and equipment.
  • Acts as a briefing officer for non-rated crewmembers, responsible for ensuring key mission elements are evaluated and
briefed for the mission. Ensures risk management procedures have been implemented for the mission and that risks are
reduced to the lowest possible levels.
  • Is part of the preflight planning process and which includes, but is not limited to, computing and evaluating aircraft
performance data, weather information, notices to airman (NOTAMS), fuel requirements, and weight and balance data.
  • Reviews aircraft logbook and maintenance forms/records to determine the checks required for the maintenance test flight
(MTF). Ensures that maintenance on the aircraft has been properly performed and documented.
  • Briefs crew and passengers on specific mission, flight data, normal procedures, emergency procedures, and equipment
requirements.
  • Performs preflight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures, operational checks, and maneuvers in accordance with
operator’s and/or maintenance test flight checklist and other applicable publications.
  • Performs FM, FE, FI or SI duties during maintenance operational checks, limited and general test flights, and functional
flights to determine the airworthiness of aircraft through inspection, flight-testing, and evaluations of flight performance,
engine operation, systems operation, and flight characteristics.
  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, diagnoses, isolates, and corrects system malfunctions using special tools and applicable test
equipment; performs necessary corrective actions in accordance with technical manuals and/or applicable publications.
  • Briefs and demonstrates operational and emergency procedures to non-crewmembers.
  • Perform FM, FE, FI or SI duties while transporting aircraft monitors, and maintenance and quality personnel as
necessary. Performs FM, FE, FI or SI duties during recovery operations on aircraft that have made a precautionary or
forced landing.
  • Prepares, maintains, and completes forms, records, reports, and other related documents pertaining to aircraft
maintenance in accordance with applicable technical publications and other directives as required.
  • Performs and records operator maintenance on assigned tools and equipment. Identifies assigned Test Measuring
Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and ensures calibration intervals and records are established and maintained.
  • Develops and sustains a culture of safety, quality compliance, and professionalism.
  • Ensures sufficient manpower, technical data, and equipment are available to meet PWS requirements.
  • Applies Company policy and procedures pertaining to the promotion, training, discipline, and termination of employees.
  • Ensures employees possess the qualifications and certifications necessary to perform their jobs.
Additional Requirements:
  • High School Diploma mandatory; Bachelor Degree in related field preferred.
  • Must be a graduate of the applicable FI authorized course of instruction or have passed an equivalency evaluation
administered by an SI selected by USAACE, Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization IAW AR 95-1.
  • Must have recorded a minimum of 750 flight hours as a FM or FE , of which 25 hours have to be as an SI/FI in the
applicable MDS helicopters but 50 hours SI/FI are preferred.
  • Must be a graduate of the United States Army, applicable military occupational specialty program of instruction,
Armed Forces equivalent or OEM factory training certification program.
  • Applicant must hold a valid and current FAA Medical Certificate Class III for FM and Class II for FE.
  • Able to obtain/maintain security clearance as required by PWS.
  • Must possess competent computer skills.
  • Must have excellent prioritization skills and possess thorough knowledge of quality systems, tools, and
regulations for the aviation industry.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running
equipment and aircraft.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional
and non-confrontational attitude.
