M TO-PROS Development Inc is Hiring a Contract Specialist, Assistant Project Manager - Jersey City, New Jersey - HYBRID Near Jersey, NJ

M To-Pros Development Inc. is an MWBE Construction Management and Project Controls company based out of NY and NJ. We are seeking a Contract Specialist, see below for details:

SCOPE: The Contract Specialist will primarily perform contract specialist duties of a diverse nature requiring some independent analysis, exercise of judgment in task execution, and detailed knowledge of company procedures related to the work performed. Work may consist of a variety of duties in support of construction management operations.

LOCATION: Jersey City, New Jersey

JOB and ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Staff must have the ability to pass a Secure Worker Access Consortium (SWAC) personnel background screening at a High Level and ability to comply with Authority policies on information security.
  • Staff must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Architecture or a related technical degree, from an accredited college or university.
  • Staff must have five (5) years’ minimum experience in the development, preparation, review, and delivery of contract documents for multidisciplinary Architecture/Engineering construction projects, including administrative contract provisions (‘front end’ or general contract requirements) and technical contract provisions (technical specifications).
  • Staff must have demonstrated ability to meet schedules and budgets for project deliverables.
  • Staff must have demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office suite at a basic or better proficiency, and ability to, without difficulty, learn and use required computer software, such as BlueBeam Revu for commenting and custom SharePoint applications.
  • Staff must have strong interpersonal, written, oral and collaboration skills, including demonstrated experience interacting successfully with project stakeholders, resolving issues, with ability to give and to follow clear direction, and must have proficient technical writing skills.
  • Reliable, focused, and dependable with excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously and deliver them accurately and on a timely basis with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated decision-making, problem solving, and interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

DESIRED:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of construction documents as promoted by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), or having CSI certifications (CDT, CCS, CCCA) is a plus.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

  • Prepare Contract books (project manuals) which contain complete project-specific administrative and technical requirements for construction and maintenance contracts and coordinate the functional scope of work requirements provided by the Project Manager with all appropriate Engineering Design Division disciplines, in conformance with specific procedures and quality control standards.
  • Provide contractual and procedural guidance to the Lead Engineer/Architect, Engineering Task Leads, Project Manager and others, and provide review comments for coordination and bid quality of Contract book elements.
  • Provide guidance on determination on the type of contract (lump sum, unit price, combination, or other) and develop project-specific payment provisions.
  • Assist the project team with the development of staging requirements, milestone completion requirements, hours of work and other special contract conditions where required.
  • Resolve contractual and technical comments and issues with Engineering staff and other departments.
  • Collaborate with the Law Department on contracts with unique circumstances and resolve Law comments.
  • Facilitate internal electronic document distribution and review process at various delivery milestones using specific applications.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Procurement Department to prepare responses and coordinate input for responses from the project team as required, for issuance of written responses to prospective bidders’ questions during the bid period, and prepare and issue Addenda, if needed, to correct or clarify the Contract documents.
  • Conform Contract books and Contract Drawings using a specific process and applications.
  • Prepare soft cost budgets for performing contract-related tasks.
  • Manage a diverse workload within established budget and schedule milestones.
  • Participate in the standard technical specifications review, comment resolution and approval process.

Hybrid work arrangement, with minimum three (3) days per week at the offices located in Jersey City, NJ.

No more than two (2) days per week remote, as required or unless otherwise directed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
