• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for developing software in Java and possibly other languages to support a large scale IT system with Linux-based servers, Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud instances, and Oracle and/or Postgres Databases.
• Responsible for taking ownership and developing software to completion with each sprint, as part of an Agile delivery team that uses Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Responsible for full spectrum of the software development life-cycle.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Performs as a technical expert in the design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or complex enhancements to existing software.
• Works with technical staff to understand and to develop resolution of software problems.
• Resolves customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements.
• Participates in the development of software user manuals or other documentation.
• Assists in the training of less experienced software development staff and may act as a team leader on less complex projects.
• No supervisory responsibilities, accountable for own contribution.

Required Skills:

• US Citizenship
• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent.
• Experience with Java software development on Linux based systems
• Requires 5 to 7 years or more of related experience in software development. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent.
• Requires conceptual knowledge of practices and procedures within a particular area of expertise.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Web Applications, Web Services
• Experience with Relational databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Linux Systems

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
• Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
