Job SummaryThe Production Associate performs multiple tasks and processes associated with the backroom operations at M&M Thrift. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Production Associate may be assigned to various areas of the business. Below is a brief description of each role. Donation Attendant: Provide a positive experience for donors and customers. They greet donors, receive and process donations, thank donors for their contribution, and provide information about the store’s donation policies. They may also provide donors with receipts for tax deduction purposes. Pre-sorters and Sorters: Support backroom production by distributing merchandise in an efficient and organized manner. Prepares workstation and creates designated bins to ease the post-sorting process. Analyzes large amounts of items and determines the appropriate path of each, sorting them by category and condition.Pricers and Pricer Support: Determine proper pricing for all items within the department. Manages inventory to ensure the assigned department is profitable. Re-merchandise the assigned department as necessary to drive sales. Research internal and external information for the assigned product to ensure that pricing is competitive. Hangers: Take clothing items that have been sorted and hang them on designated clothing racks. Taggers & Tallyers: Tag and tally items headed to the sales floor according to store policies.Runner: Transport merchandise to the sales floor. The PerksFull time hoursWeekends offBenefits eligible after 90 days of employment Key ResponsibilitiesPerform ragout on a daily basisMaintain a clean and organized backroom Keep assigned departments organized and up to organizational standardsSets and maintains high-performance standards by paying close attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness in a timely mannerFollow safety procedures and guidelinesPerforms other related duties as assigned by the leadership teamMaintains compliance with all company policies and procedures QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious thrift, retail, warehouse, or back of house experience is preferred, but not required Physical RequirementsAbility to Safely Perform Job Functions: Capable of safely and effectively performing essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity requirements.Physical Strength: Must have the ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 lbs, frequently exert up to 25 lbs. of force, and constantly apply negligible force when handling objects.Endurance: Able to stand for extended periods of time.Manual Dexterity: Proficient in performing repetitive motions such as extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction and working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.Fine Motor Skills: Skilled in tasks involving seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.Balance and Agility: Capable of maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces, as well as maintaining balance when performing agile tasks.Visual Acuity: Possesses clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more. Language RequirementsEmployees are not required to communicate exclusively in English within the workplace. However, the nature of the position may entail interactions with customers, donors, colleagues, and supervisors who primarily use English.
