M&J is seeking a Senior Project Manager (PM) to perform construction management services (CMS) support for a major client in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. The PM is responsible for planning and overseeing the construction of a new facility encompassing manufacturing and office space. This position entails serving as the Owners Representative responsible for overall schedule, budget, and records management, quality assurance, and subcontractor compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and permitting requirements.

• Oversees the construction project.
• Reviews and manages the budget and cost estimates.
• Coordinates and collaborates with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key team members of the project team.
• Allocates and manages project resources including personnel and material.
• Conducts onsite inspections to monitor progress and quality standards.
• Manages the work of field staff and provides guidance.
• Prepares detailed status, inspection, safety, financial, progress, etc. reports.
• Ensures adherence to all health, safety, and building code standards.
• Manages construction schedule and activities.
• Manages records maintenance program for all project documents.
• Reviews and recommends action for all incoming documentation, including tech specs, drawings, change orders, deficiency notifications, invoices, etc.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

The ideal candidate will have many or all the following qualifications:

• Undergraduate (BS) or masters degree (MS) in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or similar. Applicants with non-engineering/architecture degrees having the appropriate construction/field experience may be acceptable. Emphasis may be placed on experience and ability to perform the requirements of the position over educational background.
• 10 - 15 years of related construction project management experience
• Knowledge of the A/E and construction industries is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in architecture, engineering, mechanical and electrical systems installation and commissioning, and/or construction inspection experience.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and industry best practices is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Fluent English speaking and writing is required. The ability to maintain detailed written records of day-to-day activities is critical.
• Ability to simultaneously oversee multiple projects at different locations while maintaining a superior work product.
• Must be proficient with using basic hand tools, meters, monitoring equipment, and field instrumentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and variable work environment while effectively managing multiple priorities.

• Applicant must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US.
• Applicant must be able to pass a background check.
• Applicant must be able to work on active construction sites, including standing/walking for several hours at a time, climbing/descending ladders, and moving safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Some projects may require time spent outdoors in rain/snow or extreme heat/cold.
