Job Description:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks. The primary duties will include management of our MSP relationship, monitoring of hardware and software to ensure smooth operations, and Office 365 configurations and deployments.
Expectations:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and Office 365 environment.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Build, test, and deploy Office 365 conditional access, app protection, and other security controls.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Partner with vendors and service providers to support helpdesk efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
- Create and maintain documentation of system configurations and procedures.
- Participate in after-hours updates and incident response activities.
- Travel required – must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
- 3-5 years of network administration or system administration experience preferred.
- System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft 365 preferred
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
Competencies:
- Must have working knowledge and a demonstrated understanding of all core business applications used within the Bank, as well as a current understanding of how the core business applications are configured and are being used by respective business units.
- Must understand the security aspects of the application(s) regarding user access, user roles, imported data, exported data and data storage.
- Must understand the integration of other applications and their associated security aspects.
- Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations exercising flexibility, critical thinking skills and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required, with the ability to research issues, summarize findings, and make meaningful recommendations.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion in all confidential matters.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Able to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Must be flexible and able to shift resources and priorities as required.
- Able to complete all assignments with minimal supervision.
