LyonsHR - Direct Hire is Hiring an IT Support Specialist Near Birmingham, AL

Our sister company, Aligned Tek, is looking to add an IT Support Specialist to the team!

Position Summary:
Provides support to end users for computer, application, network, system, device, access, and hardware issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical issues of varying complexity. Responds to telephone, email, and in-person requests for technical support. Position is required to visit client offices based on a published schedule and/or client need. Documents, tracks, and monitors issues using applicable systems and tools. Coordinates with other teams and departments to resolve user issues as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Respond in a timely fashion to end-user needs and concerns relating to computer business applications and general system issues and provide support to all software and hardware
  •  Document service and installation actions by completing cases, tasks, events, reports, logs, and any additional records
  • Ensure client accounts are up to date and accurate with information related to their location, network equipment, staff, etc.
  •  Diagnose and resolve technical problems, prevent problem escalations, and provide solution tracking with appropriate documentation
  • Collaborate with end-users utilizing multiple remote diagnostic and connection applications
  • Install, configure, and maintain routers/firewalls, Windows and Apple workstations, applications, file and terminal servers, network cabling and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or updates
  • Perform/Manage software and application installations/upgrades
  •  Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the end-users of any given network
  •  Participate in weekly on-call rotations to handle all support requests that come in after standard operating hours
  • Have reliable means of transportation
  • Comply with safety and HIPAA regulations while maintaining a clean and orderly work area/environment

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associates or Bachelors in related field preferred but not required 
  • System administration/user management
  • Customer service and/or call center experience
  • Salesforce experience
  • Experience in tech support, desktop support, or similar role
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and helpdesk software
  • Experience working with different operating systems including Windows, MacOS, and iOS
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service, extremely detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess problem solving, analytical, and technical skills
  • Experience with Hardware/Software/Networking installation and troubleshooting
  • Search engine proficiency
  • Medical/dental software knowledge is preferred
  • Networking and low-voltage knowledge is preferred
  • Back-up solutions is preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Local travel, occasional regional travel, and some overnight stay is required.
