Lyons & Associates, P.C. is Hiring a Family Law Associate Attorney Near Somerville, NJ

Lyons & Associates, P.C. is a full-service law firm with offices in Somerville, Morristown, and Freehold. Established in 2004 by the firm’s managing partner, Theresa A. Lyons, Esq., MSW, Lyons & Associates has expanded to serve a variety of client needs in areas of law including: family law, business formation and litigation, domestic violence, criminal defense, professional licensing, estate and wealth planning, guardianships, and mediation.

Our firm is seeking an associate to join our Family Law practice group in our Somerville location. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years experience, practicing family law. In this role, you will provide legal counsel, perform legal research, draft documents, update, and maintain files. Much of your time will be spent navigating sensitive legal issues such as child custody, divorce, child abuse, and domestic violence. You will work closely with administrative staff, other colleagues, and senior partners to provide excellent legal services to our clients. The candidate must be admitted to practice in New Jersey.

  • Comfortable with handling a high volume of cases.
  • Strong knowledge base representing clients.
  • Highly developed organizational ability.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey.
  • Ethical, accountable, professional, and compassionate.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office 365
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues to best serve clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare contracts, briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Prepare for and attend legal proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel.
  • Negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records.
