 Job Title: Electrologist

Pay: $50.00/Hour

Hours: 24-32 hrs/week (.6 to .8 FTE)

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Organization Mission

The mission of Lyon-Martin Health Services is to provide high quality, compassionate and trauma- informed medical, gynecological, and mental health care services to trans, non-binary, gender non- conforming, and intersex communities and cisgender women with specific sensitivity to LGBQ sexual orientation, disability, size, race, ethnicity, and language, regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.

We aim to address and eliminate health inequities for our communities by rooting our clinical practice in core foundational intersectional frameworks of anti-racism, self-determination, harm reduction, and reproductive and disability justice. Job Summary

It is the responsibility of the Electrologist to act as a clinical leader by providing quality electrolysis services to Lyon-Martin clients, helping to grow the overall practice. The Electrologist acts collaboratively with the client’s care team to ensure best outcomes. They are also expected to uphold and imbue in others a commitment to addressing racism, and gender and sexual discrimination, fatphobia, ableism within the organization and our clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care, within the scope of credentialed privileges, to Lyon-Martin clients, documenting care promptly and following charting protocols and applicable CA state licensing requirements.
  • Complete patient sessions in a timely manner.
  • Documentation of any activity, conversation or care provided within 24 hours per policy, following charting protocols and applicable CA licensing requirements. 
  • Respond to high priority in messages within one business day and non-urgent in messages within 3 business days.
  • Maintain productivity standards as assigned by supervisor through appropriate scheduling and monitoring of no-show rate (at least 4 scheduled patients per half day).
  • Develop and implement electrologist externship program at Lyon-Martin to support increased access to electrology services for our patients and communities. Including development of selection criteria, curriculum, training and supervision programs.
  • Train, supervise and mentor electrologist externs.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, mental health and specialty staff to facilitate integration and to improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain availability for various administrative/clinical duties. Such duties may include case presentations; in-service training to staff; supervision of students; leadership/consultation to committees; attendance/speaking at events, etc.
  • Complete all mandatory trainings on an annual basis.
  • Comply with all aspects of Lyon-Martin Policies and Procedures applicable to Staff members as well as all agreements with insurers and other entities that contain provisions applicable to or affecting the duties and responsibilities of Medical Staff; and all applicable statutes, regulations, governmental agency guidelines, and non-governmental oversight body requirements that place requirements on Lyon-Martin.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to maintain a high level of professionalism and patient-centered care.
  • May be required to work evenings and/or weekends.

Education, Knowledge, Skills:

  • Electrology degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid CA Electrology license
  • Experience working with lesbian, bisexual, queer, transgender, gender non-conforming, non- binary, and intersex clients.
  • Experience working with populations with varying ages, disabilities, racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic statuses.
  • Experience working with clients who do sex work, people who use drugs, those experiencing homelessness, those of with a history of incarceration.

Available Pay Differentials: $1.00 per hours worked for employees certified bilingual in Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin), or Tagalog.
