Job Description:
Essential duties and responsibilities - Give clear instructions to the housekeepers, outline the expectations of the day or week, as well as the scope of any special project and its expectations.
- Perform daily inspections to ensure quality of work performed by housekeeping.
- Give real-time feedback to the team and ensure the highest standards of performance and accountability are consistently upheld.
- Support the director of housekeeping in developing training and standard operating procedures.
- Examine and determine the need for repair or replacement of equipment, supplies or facilities.
- Maintain proper level of supplies for each staff member and location across campus.
- Assist Director of Housekeeping in ordering and maintaining supply inventory.
- Cultivate strong communication with students, faculty and staff to respond to any issues or concerns, with the goal of driving excellent customer service.
- Provides on-call coverage as required for emergency situations.
- Respond to various telephone calls; process incoming and outgoing e-mails; file e-mails in either paper or electronic format.
- Ensure sanitation and safety protocols are consistently followed.
- Contributes to the overall success of the Housekeeping department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned, as well as collaborating with the leadership team to recommend improvements and action items.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English (both verbal and written)
- Proficient in Outlook and Word.
- Basic computer skills required.
Minimum qualifications - Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
