Lynchburg Daily Bread is Hiring a Volunteer Coordinator (PT) Near Lynchburg, VA

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for engaging volunteers, donors, and local businesses in the mission of the Daily Bread. They will recruit, schedule and supervise all volunteers, including community service workers. Position is 25-30 hours/week. Required hours are 8:30am-1pm, Monday-Friday, with additional hours available if desired. This position will also connect with weekend volunteers and staff, by working 1 weekend day per month of their choosing.
Duties:

Greet volunteers, ensure they are made to feel welcome and their gifts are being utilized.
Maintain a database of all volunteer hours and community service hours.
Recruit and promptly respond to volunteer requests via phone, email or in-person.
Maintain a list of special projects for Community Service and groups to complete.
Identify gaps and recruit volunteers to fill daily volunteer needs.
Represent Daily Bread at various community meetings and outreach activities to recruit volunteers and share our mission.
Support/assist volunteers who are bringing in food or other in-kind donations (must be able to lift 20 pounds).
Refer/support guests and volunteers in needed referrals/services.
Help in maintaining order inside/outside the facility.
Public speaking opportunities, if desired, to promote the mission of Daily Bread.
