Lydech Thermal Acoustic Solutions (TAS) is Hiring a TWI (Training) Lead - Metals/Plant 2 - 1st Shift Near Hamptonville, NC

Lydech Thermal Acoustical Solutions (TAS) manufactures industrial thermal insulating solutions, and thermal and acoustical barriers for heat abatement and sound dampening applications. Lydall TAS serves a number of markets with the majority of products sold to original equipment manufacturers and tier-one suppliers. The company serves customers via manufacturing operations and sales offices in North America, Europe and Asia. Lydech TAS offers a full line of innovative engineered products to assist in noise and heat abatement within the automotive and industrial markets. The business manufactures acoustical damping and thermal insulating solutions comprised of fiber and metal based composite product constructions. These products are typically found in the interior (dash insulators), underbody (wheel well, fuel tank, exhaust) and under hood (engine compartment) of passenger vehicles, heavy duty trucks, recreational vehicles as well as in other industrial applications. The segment employs approximately ~1400 employees with operations in the U.S., Germany, France and China.

Job Summary:

The TWI Training Lead is responsible for the oversight of all training of all employees to the Job instructions on each machine. This includes new hire on the job training, cross training of new employees and annual training to ensure compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Audit/Verify Training Coordinators are carrying out daily tasks and training to meet business needs and learning needs of workforce
  • Delegate responsibilities and tasks to Training Coordinators to ensure full utilization of each coordinator
  • Anticipate the need for additional support for other departments and respond accordingly.
  • Provide support for Training Coordinators (training, assistance, etc.). Mentor, coach and improve effectiveness and efficiency of the role ongoing.
  • Participate in and support any training auditing needs, internal and external, as necessary.
  • Train new employees to the Job Instruction (JIB) for the Transportation division.
  • Train existing employees for any cross training needed and for any changes made to the JIBs.
  • Write JIBs that are currently missing and update any current JIBs with any changes as required.
  • Record and verify all training information in the Kaizen database for the respective division as well as run all reports as necessary.
  • Qualify existing operators as needed to ensure compliance with TS and Lydall requirements.
  • Provide feedback to Front line supervisors about the employee’s qualifications for the operations.
  • Follow up with trainees to ascertain the level of skill on the machines and effectiveness of TWI Coordinators who supported their training
  • Support all business certifications (ie. TS 14001, ISO, etc.)
  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
  • Must be able to work extended hours when required
  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

(If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution)

  • High school, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand English and Spanish
  • Ability to train others to set instructions
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess detailed organizational, analytical and listening skills
  • Proficient Microsoft office and computer skills
  • Preferred- Associate degree
  • Preferred- TWI Train the trainer course completion
  • Preferred- 5 years of manufacturing experience with an automotive company
  • Preferred- Demonstrated skill in critical thinking and decision making
