Lycée Français de San Francisco (LFSF) is Hiring a Part-Time Spanish Language Teacher Near San Francisco, CA

Part-Time Spanish language Teacher

(Full time also available depending on Candidate’s background and proficiency)

The Lycée Français de San Francisco is currently seeking dynamic and enthusiastic applicants for a

Spanish language teacher to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year on a part-time basis. The

successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Middle and High School students and promoting

Spanish language in our school.

The Lycée Français de San Francisco is a French Immersion College Preparatory School in the San

Francisco Bay Area. We provide a challenging educational environment based on the French national

curriculum, enriched by English classes from PS-12th grade. Our curriculum is designed to provide

students with a well-structured, well-assimilated body of general knowledge, while encouraging the

development of analytical and critical thinking skills. Our students earn an American high school

diploma, as well as prepare for the French Baccalauréat, which qualifies them for both American and

European Universities.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement age/level-appropriate Spanish language course for Middle and High School

students

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of French curriculum standards for teaching Spanish

and Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

  • Ensure the visibility and celebration of Spanish language / LatinX cultures in our school
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress
  • Communicating regularly with students, parents, guardians and advisors regarding student

progress

  • Assess student performance using a variety of assessment methods and tools.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and implement school-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in school field trips and LFSF global learning program
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to student behavior and

discipline.

  • Participate in various teacher meetings
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in teaching or a related field.
  • Teaching certification to teach Spanish.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience teaching a wide range of student abilities at the

Middle and/or High School level.

  • Knowledge of and experience with recent best practices in Spanish language teaching

instruction.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Passion for promoting physical activity, wellness, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Familiarity with technology and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Culturally competent and committed to equity and inclusion.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule based on the needs of the school. The successful

candidate will teach approximately 10-12 hours per week (out of 18 hours/week Full-Time Equivalent).

Depending on the candidate expertise, a full-time position is also possible. The exact schedule will be

determined in consultation with the school administration.

We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with the level of education, and experience.

Excellent benefits package which includes prorated medical coverage for employee and eligible

dependents, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, long-term disability and retirement benefits.

Candidates with 3-25 years related experience in the education field can anticipate an annual salary,
ranging from: $38,200.00 (Teaching Scale 2) for 10 hours of teaching per week to $66,870.00 for 12
hours of teaching per week (Teaching Scale 1). The salary offered to the successful candidate will be
dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience
in the job, type and years of experience in the industry, education, etc. LFSF offers a negotiated salary
range.

to comply with fingerprint check.
