The LWCC Policyholder Services division is looking for a 2024 summer intern to assist in the Safety Services department. The goal of the safety services intern program is to provide our intern with an opportunity to observe and apply risk management practices in the arena of workers’ compensation insurance. This position offers great experience for those in the insurance and risk management fields, as well as any students who would like general business experience. We are flexible with starting and ending dates based on summer and school schedules however, students should be aware that our program dates will be from June to July of 2024. This is an in-office position. Safety Services Interns will: Learn the function and process of delivering safety services visits to policyholdersLearn How to read and evaluate trends on a claim loss run and develop service strategiesLearn safety services resources available to policyholders and application to reduce riskReview policyholder evaluations and safety rating using the basic evaluation report (BER) formLearn about visit preparation and documentation via RCT systemLearn about loss sources (hazard identification) and application of risk reduction methods (recommendations)Shadow an experienced safety services consultant to observe the safety visit processDevelop a written safety resource (safety meeting topic) for the resource libraryComplete a recommendation follow-up via email and phone contact with policyholderJoin in on all Policyholder Services and LWCC eventsAssemble and share a presentation on what was learned during the internship
