Chief Engineer – Commercial Satellite Office LV8D Solutions is looking for a Chief Engineer to evaluate and report on the current DoD and IC use of commercial space providers and help inform gaps in industry-provided commercial space capabilities. The Chief Engineer must possess demonstrated commercial satellite experience and be able to provide insight on the wide variety of commercial satellite capabilities & activities. Qualifications: Education / Experience: • Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience, or • Master’s degree and 13 years of relevant experience • BS in a STEM or space related field Clearance: • TS/SCI with CI Polygraph Requirements / Responsibilities: • Directly support SPO as the office responsible for commercial overhead data acquisition for the NRO • Prepares IC industry engagement written materials for conferences and other externally facing engagements • Attends conferences and external engagements as needed • Prepares an assessment of the commercial data provider marketplace, and creates opportunities for and facilitates direct engagements with commercial industry in a variety of virtual and in-person forums • Prepares and delivers briefings on the commercial data provider marketplace capabilities • In response to Directorate market research needs, provides timely and relevant reports and briefings to NRO Directorates on commercial data provider capabilities • Liaises and coordinates across the Government team to research, gather, conceptualize, identify, and capture architecture, system, program, and study requirements • Ability to establish trust-relationships as well as contribute to highly functioning, multi-faceted teams • Understanding of the current and potential capabilities of Commercial Space providers and their satellite systems • Good working knowledge of Commercial Space providers capabilities • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks and deliverables • Proven technical expertise and communications skills that demonstrate the ability to interface with all levels • Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and evaluations - making recommendations and providing professional advice and assistance to include preparing research reports and presentation briefings • Ability to apply technical expertise and summarize information/findings for presentation to Government leadership • Skilled/comfortable working in high-tempo environment, able to be flexible and to adjust to dynamic political, technical and/or fiscal challenges Geographic Locations: Chantilly, Virginia Travel: Some (~25%) Company Information: LV8D Solutions is a provider of engineering services through knowledgeable and experienced subject matter experts who recommend innovative solutions to solve complex problems.
