Our long term client is a private equity firm that is located in Lake Success. They are looking to hire a financial analyst on a direct hire basis. This position will be an integral contributor to the company’s FP&A efforts and data analysis tasks. This position is on site with limited travel to visit partner sites 1 to 2 times per year and occasional firmwide events. This position reports into the Manager of FP&A.
Responsibilities of Financial Analyst:

• Assist partner firms to prepare profit & loss statements and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Work as initial / primary contact with subsidiary’s accounting/finance teams for monthly financial reporting package submission.
• Perform monthly analytics to understand fluctuations between current and prior periods and fluctuations between actual and budget/forecast.
• Review reconciliations for all balance sheet items as needed.
• Complete various ad hoc projects and analysis at request of manager.
• Assist with quarterly and monthly statical updates.
• Assist with due diligence in regards to potential acquisitions.
• Work with subsidiaries in transition to corporate systems and procedures following acquisitions.

Skills:

• Proficient with MS Office (especially Excel), working knowledge of VBA, macros and business intelligence (BI) tools a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Accounting experience with GAAP.
• Knowledge of accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 2 years of hands on experience.

Salary is based upon experience but the target is a base salary of $70 – 80k plus 20% bonus and a full benefits package.
