Arizona is Hiring a Coordinator, Student Engagement - Academic Affairs (College of Medicine-Phoenix) Near Phoenix, AZ

  • Collaborate with Student Services leadership to develop strategic plans for department events. 
  • In collaboration with internal and external constituents, develop and implement plans and strategies for signature events on or off University property, including Match Day, Commencement, and New Student Retreat. 
  • Coordinate special events and other activities supported by the office. 
  • Provide assistance with arranging venues, catering, equipment, technological needs, and other elements crucial to a successful event.
  • Coordinate with Medical Student Government leaders to support student events.
  • Monitor or oversee the monitoring of a variety of account expenditures. 
  • Maintain and reconcile detailed budgets for various accounts
  • Advise and/or determine which expenditures are within the budget guidelines, inform management of irregularities, and proceed with corrective action.
  • Handle the financial transactions of the office for project meeting expenses, travel reimbursement, and accounts payable.
  • Process purchase orders and check requests.
  • Organize and/or prepare departmental administrative and financial reports, analyze, summarize and interpret information, and recommend action to be taken.
  • Assist the office in preparing and finalizing correspondence. This may involve research, collecting, and analyzing information, and reporting findings.
  • Prioritize and arrange meetings, conferences, and appointments for unit administrator.
  • Make travel reservations and itineraries as needed, and prepare background materials.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
