LSSI is hiring a full-time Child Welfare Specialist, Monday through Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM (varies). Provides the fullcasework servicesto assurethesafetyandwell-beingofchildren byassisting families tomeetminimum parenting standards.Service provision is in compliance withstate mandates, COA standards, agency policies, andprogram plans.

Essential Functions:

Complete andsubmit allrequiredreports,documentation, andbillingaccurately andtimelyas required by agency and funding sources.
Participatein supervisory processforguidance,direction,support,andapprovalofdecision making,assessment,service planning andintervention.Present cases forstaffingand conduct family-child team meetings.
Coordinateandcollaborate withother serviceproviders, schools,andhealthcarefacilitiesto promote the child(ren)'s well-being.
Assessfamilyservice needs.
Providelinkagetocommunity resources toremediateproblemsandpreventabuseorneglect and verify participation.
Ensurechildsafetyandwell-beingduringservicedelivery.
Providestrength-basedcasemanagement to facilitatethe resolutionofminortomoderate challenges contributing to risk to children.
Advocacywithmedicalorgovernmentalinstitutions.

Position Qualifications:In addition to a real passion for working with at-risk children and families, this opportunity requires:

Bachelor'sdegreeinsocialworkordegreeinrelatedhumanservicesfieldrequired.
Previouschildwelfareexperiencestronglydesired.
Statelicensing/certificationasrequiredby thestateof IllinoisDepartment of Childrenand Family Services.
Backgroundcheckclearance,bothcriminalandCANTS.
Basicunderstanding ofWord,Excel,SharePoint, etc.andwillingnesstolearnothersystems used by LSSI.
Demonstrated abilitytocommunicate inaclear, comprehensiblemanner,bothverbally andin writing.
Validdriver'slicense,ingoodstandingforthestateofresidencyrequired.
Accessto reliabletransportation.
ProofofvalidILstatutoryminimumliabilityinsurancecoverage required.
