LSSI is hiring a full-time Families Together Parent Peer SpecialistMonday through Friday 11AM-7PM. Under thesupervision of the Parent Specialist, this specialist worksin conjunction withtheParent Specialisttoprovidesimmediateengagementwithparentstolistenempathicallytotheirstory,answer questions, and coach andsupport parent / child contact.Engages parents inGenerationPMTOand maintains ongoing parent support.

Essential Functions:

  • Providesimmediateengagement withparentstoassessandsupporttheminreunifying the family.
  • Participatesin developinganindividualizedwholefamily treatmentplan,inconjunctionwith FT team, child and family.
  • Recruits for,organizes, andleadsGenerationPMTOgroups,ensuringthateachparent engages inthegroups, learnnewskills andincorporate thepractices withtheirfamily.
  • Setsup,coaches, andsupervises, whenneeded, ongoingcontact andvisitsbetweenthe parentandtheirchild(ren),includingbutnotlimited to virtualcalls,inpersonactivities and regular parenting tasks, such as school, medical, dental.
  • Organizeandleadongoingsupportgroups.
  • Completeandsubmitallrequiredreports,trackinginformationanddocumentationaccurately and timely as required by the agency and funding sources.
  • Demonstrate professional, positivebehavior andcarryout responsibilitieswithintegrity, treatingclients,families,otherLSSIworkforcemembers,andcollaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, andfair manner.

Position Qualifications:

  • Highschooldiplomaorequivalentrequired.
  • Associate'sdegreeinhumanservices orarelatedfieldpreferred.
  • Real-lifeexperiencewiththechildwelfaresystemand/orparentingexperience.
  • CertifiedinGenerationPMTOoravailable to participateinGenerationPMTOtrainingand certification.
  • Backgroundcheckclearance,bothcriminalandCANTSrequired.
  • Demonstrated abilitytoengageparents,includingorganizing andleadinggroups,bothin person and via virtual platforms.
  • Demonstrated abilitytocommunicate inaclear,comprehensiblemanner,bothverbally andin writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office(Outlook, Teams,Word,Excel,PowerPoint) alongwithotherrelatedsoftware.
  • ValidIL statutoryminimumliabilityinsurancecoverage, bodilyinjuryandpropertydamage required.
  • Validdriver'slicense,ingoodstandingforthestateofresidencyrequired. Accesstoreliabletransportationrequired.
