Lutheran Services in Iowa is Hiring a Family Support Specialist Near Des Moines, IA

LSI announces a gratifying opportunity for a full-time Family Support Specialist for our Early Childhood program in counties such as Dallas, Warren, Adair, and Madison.

Our Early Childhood Services provide critical care, guidance, and education to parents of young children across the state. Whether we're meeting with families through in-home weekly visits, connecting them to local resources in their community, or hosting support groups for parents to bond, this team makes a direct impact on the lives of the Iowans we are privileged to serve. What You'll Do

Want to make a difference in the life of children and families? Family Support Specialists offer home visits to expectant parents and caregivers of small children, providing parenting education, support, and advocacy. Family Support Specialists link parents to resources, promote optimal child health and development, and problem solve with parents. Family needs and abilities are evaluated on an ongoing basis. Family Support Specialists assist families in designing individualized support plans and empower families overtime to achieve their chosen goals. Our home visitation program is part of a nationwide initiative designed to empower families to become and remain healthy and strong.

What You'll Need

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in a health, education, or human service related field and one year of related experience working with children and families.

Bilingual Spanish-English speaking preferred.
