Summary
The Dietary Aide performs a variety of dining service functions in serving and maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized conditions of kitchen, dining areas, facilities, and equipment within the skilled nursing and assisted living memory care residential areas; May assist in some aspects of food preparation

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
1. One year of dietary aide experience preferred
2. Basic cooking skills and willingness to learn
3. Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
4. Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments
5. Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
6. Must be patient and tolerant with staff, residents, and family members
7. Successful completion of SafeServ certification within 90 days of hire
8. Must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County (in accordance with County health regulations)

The Dietary Aide stands and walks the majority of the working day, as well as reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and manipulates various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment. The Dietary Aide must have an ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents and to withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes, such as entering refrigerated storage areas and working at ovens, ranges, dish-washing machines, and steam tables. This employee must be free from infections or diseases.
