Position Summary:
  • Case Aides assist New American populations by supporting Community Services staff in providing direct client services for Afghan parolees including case management, accessing education opportunities, and finding suitable employment.
Job Duties:
  • Support staff by scheduling and coordinating necessary appointments for clients.
  • Assist clients with transportation to and from appointments to fulfill activities under their service plan (medical appointments, education enrollment, employment activities, etc.)
  • Help clients learn how to ride the bus.
  • Support community services staff in other ways as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other SASIC staff to support the overall objectives of the department.
  • Communicate with LFS team members to coordinate case management services.
  • Assist in ensuring that interpretation is arranged when necessary.
  • Work to foster positive relationships with partner organizations serving clients.
  • Attend meetings or networking events with other community partners as needed.
  • Act on behalf of clients regarding their cases when working with other organizations.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful demeanor during all contact with staff and the public.
  • Assist in creating client files and ensure all necessary documentation is present.
  • Ensure information is entered into program databases in a timely fashion.
  • Compile data when required for internal quality assurance or other reporting needs.
  • Ensure compliance in protecting confidential client or agency information.
  • Assist clients in setting up appointments or other services.
  • Other job-related duties as needed.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma / GED required. Bachelor’s degree in human services related field preferred.
  • Case management and/or refugee services experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and another language preferred (desired languages mirror the languages spoken by our client populations, including but not limited to Spanish, Karen, Pashto, Dari, Burmese, Somali, Arabic, Russian, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid driver’s license, liability auto insurance, and ability to drive personal vehicle for agency work.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting and using computers for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent travel to various offices and community locations to support client services as needed and as applicable by region.
  • Frequent travel with personal vehicle and agency van to transport clients.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends to meet client needs (as directed).
  • Laptop and company-issued cell phone.
