Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice President of Community Based Services for Refugee Support provides supervision, logistic, budget review, and grant support in partnership to the Vice President of Community Based Services. This individual ensures compliance with programming reporting, funding requirements, business development and grant funding opportunities.
Job Duties:
  • Provide supervision of program staff and support systems for service delivery.
  • Oversee staff through the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, and separation processes to ensure team effectiveness and compliance with company policies
  • Ensure funder reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the continual growth of Community Based Services.
  • Identify internal and external trends and utilize them to deliver upon our mission.
  • Coordinate program development and service delivery for all states within our scope.
  • Travel across the state(s) to attend meetings that promote services and activities of LFS.
  • Ensure good stewardship of all LFS Community Services resources.
  • Responsible for oversight to ensure work and records meet standards and requirements.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of service delivery through continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage program requirements core service delivery, contracting, and accreditation.
  • Ensure application of COA standards pertinent to programs and operations.
  • Provide budget development to support the AVP of Community Based Services
  • Provide leadership with analysis and recommendations regarding program operations based on monthly financial statements, accounts receivable reports, and programmatic trends.
  • Actively seek opportunities for new and current service delivery growth and expansion.
  • Work with the internal and external partners to integrate and/or expand program services.
  • Coordinate grant proposals and contracts for new, current, or expanded services.
  • Develop and maintain on-going, positive relationships with key funding sources (public and private, local, state, and national).
  • Network with other public and private agencies and funders throughout the state.
  • Participate in organization relations/fund raising functions as appropriate.
  • Set SMART goals for program effectiveness and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services field, public administration, business administration required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in program development or organizational management.
  • Five (5) plus years of progressively responsible supervisory experience; experience leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams preferred.
  • Experience working with community organizations or refugee or immigrant populations.
  • Experience with finance, budgeting, grant writing and contracting preferred.
  • Knowledge of social issues, community organizations, and social advocacy preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid driver's license, liability auto insurance, and ability to drive on agency business.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Hybrid work environment (in office, in community, and remote, as directed).
  • Company issued laptop and cell phone.
  • Variable hours including evenings, weekends, or on-call to meet client and program needs.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the state to attend meetings that promote services and activities of the organization and to meet with various staff.
