Lutheran Community Services Northwest is Hiring a PT Immigration Specialist (Multilingual) Near Vancouver, WA

THE ROLE: The PT Immigration Specialist is responsible for providing immigration support and advocacy to clients in our Vancouver, Washington office and assist in outreach and education to the immigrant and refugee community in Washington. This position is approximately 18.75 hours a week. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide information and advocacy on a wide variety of immigration matters including but not limited to Naturalization, Adjustment of Status, and Family Reunification Provide in-person and phone assistance to clients with their immigration matters and provide ongoing case management and support Schedule clients for appointments Maintain accurate client files and detailed case notesAttend ongoing trainings and continuing education courses in order to keep updated on recent changes in Immigration LawAttend Safe Route Immigration (SRI) all-staff meetings, other meetings, and trainings as requested by Vancouver SRI Program ManagerOther duties as assigned by SRI Program Manager QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Knowledge of Immigration Law and of USCIS processes and eligibility requirements for immigrations benefits including but not limited to Naturalization, Adjustment of Status, and Family ReunificationPossess strong communication (both written and verbal), time-management, and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and set prioritiesAbility to work as a supportive team member Familiarity with standard office procedures and basic knowledge of office equipment (printer, photocopy, fax, scanner, phone, etc.)Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish or another foreign languageEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or above; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Minimum one year of related experience THE PERKS: We offer a full benefits package with options for medical, dental, prescription and vision coverage; employer-paid short and long-term disability, as well as life insurance.
