LUPUS FOUNDATION OF AMERICA Texas Gulf Coast Chapter is Hiring an Event Manager Near Houston, TX

JOB SUMMARY

The Event Manager works within development team and is a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills and a “can-do” attitude.

The Event Manager will work directly for and with the CEO (at this time) as well as fellow staff and key volunteers to create and execute annual Walk to End Lupus Now fundraisers, Gala, Memorial breakfast and more fundraising and awareness events across the Texas Gulf Coast region from Lufkin to McAllen.

Job Summary:

· Implement Detailed Success Project Plan for each event

· Handling budgeting for individual events and invoicing

· Managing and negotiating with vendors

· Managing event logistics

· Recruit and engage sponsors and volunteers

· Maintain Peer to Peer fundraising captain communications and prize levels

· Updating Management throughout event cycle

· Manage branding and communication for all events

· Develop and execute event feedback surveys

· Obtain necessary permits as needed

· Create and deliver post-event reports

· Work well with volunteers and committee members

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a self-starter with effective time management skills along and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university (marketing, communications or another related field encouraged)
  • 2 years of special event fundraising proven track required including budget and goals results
  • Passionate in supporting #LupusWarriors
  • Ability to work as a part of a team as well as interface with all levels of staff, volunteers and the public
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Applications including email, word, PowerPoint and more with efficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail required. Multi-tasker with strong organizational and administrative skills – Project Management experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Diplomatic in working with volunteers and team members
  • Proficiency in various event software including Salesforce.
  • Professionalism, confidentiality and enthusiasm for developing strong community relationships
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and access to a reliable vehicle is required for frequent travel within the Gulf Coast region of Texas. (mileage is reimbursed)
  • Physical ability to lift, load and transport heavy supplies to and from programs and events

· May be periodically required to drive rental vehicles including cargo vans and box trucks

Lupus Texas Gulf Coast provides access to Health Insurance, Vision and Dental Insurance, a flexible work schedule (40 hours per week). Our office is located at 405 Main St. in Houston and office hours are required.
