The Family Educator (FE) provides support and information for parents residing in Lund’s residential treatment facility to increase their ability to meet the needs of their children
Strengthening parents’ knowledge of child development and appropriate ways to stimulate learning
Promote a strong parent-child relationship
Increase parents’ competence and confidence in parenting
Work as a collaborative member of community treatment team to develop and address individual treatment goals
Participate in court proceedings as needed
Organize and facilitate weekly parent education group classes
Maintain client records, including daily logs, individual session notes, monthly progress reports, and assessments
Engage in supervised visitation between parent and child, as needed
Serve as a resource to collaborating partners and other staff as appropriate
Abide by Lund policies and procedures and maintain all pertinent documentation
One adjusted shift per week is required in order to meet the need to facilitate and support parent child interactions
Other duties as assigned
This position starts at $24-25/hr.
What We Look For:
A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field
Must have experience working with teens, children, and families.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position either with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to maintain a valid VT Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation. Occasional statewide travel may be required
Upon conditional offer of employment, must be able to successfully pass a background check
Regular attendance is necessary and essential to meeting the expectations of the job

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully both orally and in writing
Proficiency in the use of applicable hardware and software as required
