The Medical Assistant role at Luna Dermatology is an important part of our team, helping to ensure a successful patient visit. She/he will support the broader clinical team through the performance of a range of duties including preparing treatment rooms, taking notes for medical charts, educating patients, and assisting the physician with a range of medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures.
Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity available for a talented medical assistant to join our team! This is a full-time position splitting time between our New Paltz and Kingston office locations. The position includes a base hourly rate of $17 - $20 per hour (based on experience), plus benefits. We offer opportunities for growth and advancement over time.
Job Duties:
· Perform medical assistant duties, including but not limited to: taking medical history, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, preparing the rooms for treatment before and after a patient visit, assisting the physician during exams, collecting lab specimens, instructing patients about medication and treatment protocols (to include in-person conversations and phone calls), and assisting with medical notes / charts in the practice’s electronic medical records system.

Education and Experience
· Strong knowledge of customer service and communication skills
· Bachelors degree preferred but not required
· Four or more years of experience working in a professional setting
· Some medical office experience preferred but not necessary
Spanish language competency nice to have, but not required.
