Learn more at Lumos | High-Speed Fiber Internet Provider in NC, VA and SC (lumosfiber.com) The PositionThe Building Attendant is responsible for overseeing the general cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings and surrounding grounds, including but not limited to maintaining lighting, small plumbing and electrical repairs, as well as the pool vehicles assigned to those buildings. Additional duties include driving a Company vehicle for general courier services i.e. mail/supplies pickup and delivery. Performs other duties as required and assigned. Work is to be performed under general supervision with detailed instructions given on special assignments. Duties & Responsibilities: Oversees general Cleaning/Housekeeping and Maintenance of Assigned BuildingsPerforms small maintenance repairs in assigned buildings, which includes changing light bulbs, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, minor office system and equipment repairs, hanging whiteboards in offices and assembling other office furniture items, as neededRemoves all trash from property keeping buildings in a clean and orderly conditionReport any obvious building/equipment repairs; identify problems (such as light bulb replacement, lock adjustment, carpet repair, broken glass, holes in walls, ceiling tile replacement, tripping hazards, etc.) and resolve the problemsReviews cleaning services vendors daily work to assure quality of workGeneral Courier Services – mail/supplies pickup and deliveryPerforms general maintenance to outside of assigned buildings and surrounding landscape for aesthetics and safetyOversees grass mowing and weed cutting at assigned locationsProvides preventive maintenance of facility and office equipmentAssists with Special Projects/Inspections and escorting vendors at various buildingsInspects fire extinguishers and sprinkler control valves as mandated in assigned buildingsWorks with the Safety Team to monitor/refill first aid kits at assigned buildingsAssists with and maintain snow removal and sidewalk saltingPool Vehicles – Cleaning inside and out and coordinating routine maintenance and inspectionsMonitors and maintains all building systems as assigned by manager Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: Organizational skills; Ability to understand mechanical terminology and safely perform small mechanical/plumbing/electrical repairs and carpentry work.Key Competencies: Ability to organize/schedule work activities; ability to work safely while on a ladder; ability to safely lift 50-100 lbs. and transport 50 feet; ability to safely operate power tools, equipment, and hand tools; ability to adapt to changes in assignments; ability to safely perform all duties in compliance with the MSDS guidelines for use of products/chemicals and the proper use of safety equipment provided by the company. Our commitment to communities includes recruiting and rewarding the Lumos team members who are working together to build a brighter tomorrow.We have: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.Competitive compensation packages, including bonus options for eligible positions.Paid Time Off and 12 Paid Holidays / Personal Days.Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).100% employer-paid life and disability insurance.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with access to professional support for life’s challenges.401K plan w/ up to 5% employer contribution and a self-directed brokerage option.Wellness program offering education and cash incentives for gym attendance and nutrition programs.Employee referral bonuses.Discounts on Lumos Fiber Internet for employees who live in our service areas.
