Luminator is seeking to fill our Document Control Clerk role to join our growing and dynamic Engineering Team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator. Summary:

We are looking for a hardworking reliable Document Control Clerk to join our team who will be responsible for establishing processes and procedures within the Engineering Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process Engineering Change Orders per establish processes and procedures
  • Maintains company’s Engineering electronic files and data of the latest revision level necessary to define product configuration using an ERP and PLM system
  • Auditing of Bill of Materials (BOM) in the PLM and ERP databases to ensure accuracy of information
  • Issue part numbers
  • Confers with Engineers and document owners to resolve discrepancies
  • Distributes notification of the latest revision changes per approved ECOs to all appropriate users
  • Perform general clerical typing duties to correct typos and errors on engineering drawings and documents as necessary to ensure accuracy before production release
  • Manage and control external commercial and government standards from company’s restricted library
  • Supports users request for part numbers and document number using company’s ERP system
  • Provides internal customer service and support
  • Distribute released drawings upon request
  • Ability to clearly document new processes and procedures
  • Scanning for the purpose of capturing, storing, and ability to retrieve document
  • Maintains and validates data with multiple departments in ERP maintenance
  • Provide training for new Document Control processes

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Basic understanding of good document control practices
  • Strong analytical skills along with sound judgment
  • MS Office Professional: proficiency must include, but is not limited to, MS Outlook, MS Word (including advance Word functions such as the use of headers/footers, table of contents, tables/columns and creating and running mail merges), MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat Professional (merging multiple PDF files into one consolidated PDF and/or replacing pages)
  • Knowledge of ERP/PLM System a plus; Syteline and SmarTeam
  • Knowledge of CAD applications – Solid Works, Solid Edge, CATIA, AutoCAD
  • Must be flexible and able to readily adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy required
  • Good typing, organizational, and attention to detail skills

Education/Experience: 

  • High school diploma required
  • Document management systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Document management: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
