Project Management Organization (PMO) Lead [Transit /Transportation – DC Metro Area]

Job Description:

Lumenor Consulting Group is seeking a PMO Lead for a large transit capital program in the DC Metro area. This is a rewarding opportunity that will lead a team of professionals supporting the administration of contracts and Task Orders through the full project life cycle.. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Project Management Information System (PMIS) architecture and management and demonstrated experience balancing strategic planning with operational execution, helping projects succeed and aligning them with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide oversight to the Program Management Organization (PMO) team responsible for providing program controls and project management support services.
  • Implement and manage the Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) required to meet the program’s goals and reporting requirements. Utilize tools such as e-Builder, SharePoint, Procore, and Power BI to provide process automation, data and document management, and portfolio reporting.
  • Develop, continuously update, and ensure compliance of PMO processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Develop and define standard project management processes, templates, and tools, and provide end-user training.
  • Consolidate data gathering and automate report generation through dashboards and KPIs.
  • Provide program status reports for various stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective program communications.
  • Create and maintain the integrated Program plan across multiple workstreams.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10 years’ experience in project controls and PMO organizations combined with previous leadership experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing PMIS practices and processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI.
  • Proven experience managing PMO functions for large programs.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Local to the D.C. metropolitan area. This is anticipated to be a hybrid position, with 3 days per week reporting to an office.
  • Experience implementing and managing e-Builder, Procore, Power BI and other Project Management tools and systems.
  • Experience with Agile and waterfall-based delivery programs/projects.
  • 5 years with transit or transportation capital improvement projects within the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industries.
  • Experience creating APIs to integrate systems.
  • e-Builder Certified Professional (eBCP).
