LUMCFS is Hiring a Development Officer Near Ruston, LA

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain high standard of professional, personal, and interpersonal functioning in job performance.
    1. Actively promote LUMCFS, through organized Development and Public Relations efforts to build relationships, to solicit the involvement of local communities, and to schedule tours of the facilities.
    2. Assist in distribution of LUMCFS materials of an interpretive and promotional nature.
    3. Motivate and help current supporters to maximize their donations to operations, contributions to designated projects, contributions to the organization's endowment, and planned gifts.
    4. Recruit and inspire new friends, volunteers, and donors, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters.
    5. Assist in the organization of traditional activities (such as sponsored outdoor events) and help friends of LUMCFS organize new fundraising events.
    6. Imagine and design new fundraising activities with the cooperation of Development and Public Relations staff.
    7. Raise awareness of LUMCFS and its work at local and state levels, e.g. by giving talks to groups or seeking photo opportunities with the media.
    8. Develop and implement strategies to recruit and develop individual and corporate supporters.
    9. Update the Raiser’s Edge databases to record donor contact and preference information.
    10. Maintain contact with friends, donors, volunteers, partner organizations, and other constituencies to encourage continued and increased financial support of LUMCFS.
    11. Develop support of LUMCFS financial activities such as planned giving programs, monthly donor program, fundraising events, financial campaigns, and other opportunities.
    12. Actively contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of work environment through participation in performance improvement activities.
    13. Perform other duties as requested. 

      QUALIFICATIONS

      1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in Business, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
