Lumbee Holdings, Inc is Hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator/Maintainer IV Near Quantico, VA

Work Location

Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA, specifically at the Transportation Demonstration Support Area (TDSA), George Mason Road, Quantico, Virginia.

Position Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator/Maintainer IV will support the Program Executive Officer, Land Systems (PEO LS) Specialty Support Services. The Heavy Equipment Operator/Maintainer will assist with all aspects supporting operations of the customer facilities located at the Transportation Demonstration Support Area, George Mason Road, and other locations in and around Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Responsibilities

The Heavy Equipment Operator/Maintainer will be responsible for preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on Government owned equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator/ Maintainer will support the readiness and daily availability of the facility and all resident tools and equipment to support customer planned and sporadic VIP events. They will provide support/care and maintenance as it pertains to the readiness and availability of resident inventory of equipment and vehicles. This will require pre-operational or monthly inspections and maintenance and this team member will be responsible to ensure safe conduct and a professional appearance with the operations of vehicles and equipment at the customer facility and strictly adhere to the expectations and guidance provide within the TDSA Standard Operating Procedures manual and daily taskings. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support of customer operations/transport with offloading and loading/lift and supply storage requirements for shipping, receiving for all resident equipment, tools or systems.
  • Support of customer to host and conduct training events, static and dynamic vehicle and equipment/systems technologies demonstrations, industry days, equipment assessments, integration, and general support of meetings/events to include parking and facility maintenance such as tree trimming/brush hogging, mowing and pressure washing and badge checking.
  • Possess the mental and physical capacity to climb, lift, crawl, operate and use vehicles, equipment and tools as assigned in support of demonstrations or general use, or maintenance of the customer facility or equipment as assigned or required.
  • Complete all reporting requirements for any use of vehicles and equipment maintained at the customer facility.
  • Coordinate and prioritize preventive maintenance and corrective services with contractor site manager.
  • Change large vehicles and equipment batteries.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and corrective services maintenance and complete all daily lube requirements as required or assigned with the customer owned equipment in accordance with the customer priorities.
  • Follow provided operating parameters and guidelines in accordance with professional standards and daily tasks assignments.
  • Assist with vehicle, equipment, or facility maintenance at all levels within customer facilities or assist with recovery efforts as needed.
  • Provide work status, progress or inventories for review and provide documentation as required to meet customer contract obligations.
  • Broad knowledge and skills to contribute to the daily operations at the TDSA.
  • Ability to document and maintain information and records electronically and physically.
  • Familiar with maintenance shop and grounds electric, pneumatic and battery-operated hand tools and equipment.
  • Complete all required training to support any facility or daily activity requirements provided by the customer.
  • Supervisory skills; may be called upon to independently determine best practice or method to safely complete tasks and interpret special assignments. May supervise the activities of others or liaison in the absence of management as assigned or required.
  • MS Office proficiency to include use of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with Adobe PDF to complete and sign preformatted documents and edit data for accurate reporting.
  • 7-9 years of experience working within a military transportation section and/or with maintenance and grounds facility.
  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid OF-346 U.S Government Motor Vehicle and Equipment Operators Identification Card if required.
  • Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License and current medical certificate.
  • Certified Diesel Mechanic or combined work experience.
  • The ability to obtain certifications/licenses to operate/drive tactical vehicles and or equipment.

Desired Skills

Education/Certification

The Heavy Equipment Operator/Maintainer will enter a company/customer 90-day probationary period for completion of security and background checks as well as a skills evaluation. The current Monday – Friday workday is reporting at 7:00am and leaving at 4:00pm with a one-hour lunch break.

Security Clearance Requirements

Security Clearance Requirements - Must be able to maintain a T1 security clearance upon hiring.

Travel Requirements

Travel is anticipated for training purposes only and very infrequent.
