Job Summary

The Brand Director at Lulus is responsible for developing strategic plans to grow brand initiatives and will lead cross-functional team members to further brand growth. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing, this role oversees the brand team, including marketing managers, influencer teams, and social media teams. The Brand Director is responsible for defining and maintaining the brand's unique positioning in the market, ensuring that brand messaging resonates with the target audience, and developing integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty.

The Brand Director will also work closely with the Creative Director on building and maintaining a cohesive brand story and tone of voice for the Lulus brand. This candidate should be steeped in pop culture, aware of trends (particularly in digital, social, and fashion), and familiar with developing brand positioning and differentiation in a competitive landscape. This role is central to the brand's positioning and how it engages with customers. The Brand Director will identify and build strategic partnerships with brands and collaborators to elevate the Lulus brand.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.

  • Define and maintain the brand's unique positioning in the market to differentiate it from competitors.

  • Develop and oversee the creation of brand messaging that resonates with the target audience and effectively communicates the brand's values and attributes.

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and sales, to ensure that brand strategies are integrated across all touchpoints.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer insights, and competitive threats that inform brand strategies.

  • Manage the brand's budget effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to achieve brand objectives.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of brand initiatives, using data and insights to optimize strategies for maximum impact.

  • Led and mentored a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success in executing brand strategies.

What You’ll Need

  • 10 years of experience at a relevant brand, media company, or creative agency

  • 5 years of leadership experience required

  • Expert in experience brand marketing

  • Passion for fashion and previous experience with activations and pop-ups for fashion brands

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and team environment with strong time management skills

  • Experience evaluating and negotiating contracts

  • Proven experience growing and maintaining brands

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and communication skills; and ability to manage multiple priorities at once

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Travel and some night and weekend hours are requirements for this position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or a similar discipline

This position does not offer remote work. It is a hybrid role, requiring candidates to be open to working three days in the office: Tuesday through Thursday.

Our job postings include an annual base salary range for the role. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include an annual bonus and other benefit programs.
