Maritime Operations Synchronizer

Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification & Education	N/a
Experience Required	Must have served as a commissioned US Navy or US Coast Guard Officer with 10 years of prior military experience. Served a minimum of 2 years in an operational or strategic level headquarters (O-6 or higher) demonstrating a firm understanding of the assignment, allocation, and apportionment processes of maritime conventional and SOF forces. Must possess and maintain a current TS/SCI clearance.

Job Objective

The purpose of this task is to provide Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) trained with a high degree of relevant and current knowledge and situational awareness of SOF activities as well as other human and geo-political issues affecting SOCSOUTH plans and activities. Planning, capabilities development support, analysis are also needed to accomplish the SOCSOUTH mission.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary maritime synchronizer and advisor to the J35 Maritime Planner, coordinating and synchronizing operations to achieve commander's intent.
Liaise with maritime entities including NAVSOUTH, USCG Pac Area, USCG Lant Area, MARFORSOUTH, GCCs, TSOCs, USSOUTHCOM, and SOCSOUTH.
Facilitate synchronization of maritime OAIs to achieve effects and develop strategic, operational, and tactical-level plans.
Manage joint and cross-component planning groups, VTCs, and meetings, providing maritime-specific courses of action to the J3 and SOCSOUTH Commander.
Advise on maritime aspects of GC, CD, CTOC, CT, CWMD, IRCs, and IW planning and coordination in the USSOUTHCOM AOR.
Integrate as a maritime SME across all directorates to coordinate GC maritime operations and OAIs.
Assist in developing long-term maritime plans and finalizing SOF and Conventional maritime support for future operations.
Maintain situational awareness of all maritime activities within the SOCSOUTH Operational Division's spheres of influence.
Act as liaison to other operations division directorates and SOCSOUTH staff for maritime operations in the USSOUTHCOM AOR.
Travel domestically and internationally for maritime operations coordination, averaging 3-5 TDY trips annually within the USSOUTHCOM AOR, not exceeding 5 days each trip.
