**Job Overview:**

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Produce Warehouse Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our produce warehouse, ensuring that all produce is stored, handled, and shipped according to the highest quality and food safety standards. You will lead and manage a team of warehouse staff, promote a positive work environment, and implement efficient processes to maximize productivity.

**Duties:**

- Manage the daily operations of the produce warehouse department

- Coordinate and collaborate daily with our field production managers and sales team daily to ensure fresh high-quality produce is in adequate supply as required by sales orders, events, and promotions

- Must ensure that all receipts of produce are properly graded, segregated, documented, and relevant photos are taken, then communicate with the warehouse manager and the sales team to ensure movement of produce and avoid aging of existing perishable stock

- Implement and maintain quality control standards

- Oversee inventory management and restocking of products

- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, including OSHA and Cal-OSHA standards

- Maintain consistent communications across various channels, coordinate and align the warehouse operations with the rest of the company’s activities.

- Implement strategies to enhance efficiency in produce handling

- Performs and oversees all inventory actions including audits, cycle counts and physicals inventories as directed by the warehouse manager.

- Monitors warehouse material handling equipment, refrigeration equipment, company owned vehicle fleet, and processing equipment, and submits issues to the Warehouse Manager for work orders, repairs and recommend changes for safe operations

- Identifies opportunities to streamline warehouse processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency

- Responsible for monitoring and reporting performance in relation to company KPI’s; On Time In-Full Shipping, Shipping Accuracy, Order Accuracy, Order Fill Rate, Cycle Count Accuracy, Inventory Accuracy, Production Performance against Standards, Dead Stock Inventory, and Inventory Terms

**Requirements:**

- Prior experience in produce wholesale and distribution management or related field

- Knowledge of agricultural product management principles and regulatory requirements

- Familiarity with refrigeration preservation systems for cold room storage of perishables

- Detailed understanding of quality control procedures and governing requirements for produce distribution and wholesale

- Analytical ability to gather, document, and summarize operational data and solve problems

- Leads by example – demonstrates exceptional leadership traits. Proven ability to work with a team of people with different personalities and skillsets. Excellent people skills – team player.

- Computer Systems - knowledge and proficiency in MRP/ERP systems, WMS, RFID systems, and operate Microsoft Office and related software to communicate, perform analysis and report information as required

- Strong mechanical aptitude, technical and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and expedite

- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills

- Understands and can implement Lean 5S Warehouse methodologies and principles

- Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail

- Bilingual in English and Spanish - must be fluent in both - read, write, and speak
