Job Description

Job Title: Quality Inspector 3rd shift

PURPOSE

The purpose of an auditor is to set-up each press with all quality standards, instruct operators on quality ; and packaging related issues. Record all inspections in process check log sheets and discrepant material reports. Notify supervisor and operators of changes in quality of the product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set-up visual-aid standards and instruct operator at machine.

Perform all audits and record data as instructed. Identify and segregate all Discrepant Material via DMR System.

Perform in process audits and record findings on IP check log sheets. Report any quality issues to manufacturing foreman and quality supervisor Check if daily required work is completed.

The In-process Auditor must be able to review a part against a quality acceptance standard and determine if it is acceptable or if it should be rejected. The in-process auditor must record the finding on the In-Process Check Log Sheet. If a problem occurs notify the shift foreman for corrective action and be able to verify and document the action. Fill out Discrepant Material
Reports and oversee the containment of defective products.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of Metric and Standard weight measurements, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination averages and range on control chart.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions., short correspondence, and memos Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on- one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, quality standards and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts„ and draw valid conclusions Ability to deal with standardized situation with only occasional or no variable. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved. Written or oral instruction. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with-several-abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to stand. use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception ; and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
