Description: Synergy ECP is looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager with government contracting experience to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day financial activities. Accounting manager responsibilities include performing and managing the daily accounting operations and assisting in preparing monthly financial reports. Responsibilities: * Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and year-end process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, cash forecasting, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity
* Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
* Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
* Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
* Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy Requirements Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 6 years of experience
* Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance ManagerSkills and Abilities: * Must be able to perform "hands on" accounting and payroll activities * Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) * Dependable, motivated, highly organized with strong problem-solving skills and effective decision making abilities
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and produce quality results
* Advanced computer skills on MS Office, Excel and accounting software and databases
* Excellent communication (both oral and written) and listening skills * Willingness to take ownership, accountability with a focus towards continuous process improvement
* Knowledge of Government Contracts and job cost accounting preferred
