Job Title: Budget Analyst

Work Location:

Irving, TX or Tampa, FL

Job Description:

  • Review budget proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and maintain annual IT budgets.
  • Assist in the creation of budget proposals for new projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor and track IT expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Analyze spending patterns and identify areas for cost optimization.
  • Assist in the development of financial forecasts for IT projects and ongoing operations.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis on IT projects, identifying cost drivers and trends.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking in Project Tracking System tool.
  • Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to track and manage IT vendor expenses.
  • Utilizes financial systems to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports and present budget to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary policies and procedures.
  • Prepare regular financial reports detailing IT spending and variances.
  • Present financial information to IT management and finance teams.
  • Implement improvements to streamline budget tracking and reporting.
  • Monitor organizational spending to ensure that it is within budget.
  • Defending budget recommendations with data and evidence-based analyses.
  • Reviewing proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and be able to maintain confidentiality of data.
  • Review budget proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Provide insights into potential budget risks and opportunities.
  • Work with IT teams to address and rectify any budget-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Budget Analyst, preferably with an IT environment.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Detail - oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Certification in financial analysis or budgeting (e.g., CFA, CBAP).
  • Knowledge of IT industry trends and cost drivers.
