The Assistant Dean is primarily responsible for management and coordination of alumni and community affairs, both external and internal, for the School of Allied Health Professions. The incumbent serves as the liaison between the SAHP and the other LSUSHC schools, the LSU Health Foundation, and the greater New Orleans community. Responsible for developing and sustaining engagement with the SAHP alumni and Greater New Orleans community across all SAHP programs. The incumbent is the school representative for alumni relations and community members and organization and under direct supervision of the Dean, will work with the LSUHSC Foundation on Alumni solicitations and other Foundation activities as directed by the Dean. The Assistant Dean is responsible for the management and coordination of internal community events for the purpose of employee engagement, involvement, and collaboration as directed by the Dean. The Assistant Dean will provide approximately 30-50% effort within the Dean’s office and will continue as a faculty member in his/her primary academic department (50-70%) with responsibility for teaching and course instruction, as well as departmental, school, and university committee service.
