IT APPLICATIONS SUPPORT ANALYST

Under the general direction of the IT Applications Support Coordinator, serves to support the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions/ ERP system for LSU Health-New Orleans and LSU Health-Shreveport. Incumbent provides assistance to the user community on LSUHSC policies and procedures that relate to the operation and use of the Student Administration systems. In addition to providing end-user functional support, the incumbent facilitates application setup, security, maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, and processes needed to support the Student Administration departments.

Job Duties:

Table, Process and Configuration Maintenance and Setup

Coordinates the setup and maintenance of system tables for all sites. Completes all additions, revisions and deletions. Establishes and maintains module configuration and table maintenance documentation. Ensures that all maintenance activity is thoroughly tested and meets institutional policy and guidelines. Ensure completion of approved requests for data correction, including monitoring and assessing the frequency of requests for data correction to identify needs for additional training and/or administrative follow up with the users.

Functional Liaison - Develops extensive level knowledge in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules. Evaluates PeopleSoft developed documentation, classes, webinars, and information releases to gain knowledge on additional modules. Cross-trains in multiple modules to provide support to all functional and end-user module teams. Disseminates appropriate information to the module teams. Drafts recommendations for business process enhancements. Advocates on behalf of the functional modules. Assist in the functional support of the end user community. Provide well researched, thorough and complete answers to questions regarding the use of the application(s), the applicable business processes, and the institutional policies and procedures that bear on the business functions supported by the software. Works Help Desk Support tickets.

Upgrades, Maintenance, System Enhancements and Modifications - Gathers information from end users regarding initiatives to make enhancements to the system, make modifications to the system and to implement new functionality delivered within the system but not yet in use within the enterprise. Maintains awareness of upgrade release notes, general information releases, maintenance updates, and bug fixes. Collaborates with the technical developers on the implementation and testing of system upgrades, enhancements and modifications. Creates upgrade delta documentation. Provide support in developing and executing the plans to conduct thorough testing of the enhancements, modifications and/or new functionality in cooperation with the end user community and the Application Developers. Maintains availability and participates in all go-live tasks as assigned. Facilitates end-user review and functional phases of modification implementation.

Communications - Maintains a high level of oral and written communication skills. Analyzes and interprets complex ideas and requirements and translates those ideas into understandable terms. Assists in communicating changes in policies, procedures and related changes in the application across the organization. Participates in developing communications in a variety of forms to include email, standard mail, web page, information release, system alerts, and network alerts. Establishes Support Team documentation and maintains the Support Team web page.

Technical Liaison - Identify and accurately communicate changes that require technical assistance to the IT team (Application Developers, Security, etc.). Assist in the prioritization of the list of functional requirements that will guide the IT team. Identifies and communicates issues and tasks that require technical assistance. Provides business process information to the technical team.

End User Reporting - Assist end users in the development and maintenance of reports from the system. Assist in the selection and use of the reporting tool(s) to best accomplish the purpose of the reporting need, considering ease of use by end users and future maintenance through software upgrades. Assist the end user community to make efficient and effective use of existing reports and tools, minimizing the need for duplicative development efforts. Participate in the creation and maintenance of a “catalog” of available reports, queries, etc. to assist in this endeavor.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year institution in Business, Public Admin., Hospital Admin., Human Resources, Information Technology or related field Must have two years relevant work experience. Relevant experience in an academic or healthcare environment preferred.
